Matt Rohs
President

President Bonnie CoffeyAs a member AHIOS, and now as president of the organization, Mr. Rohs leads the organization’s efforts to strengthen, enhance and raise awareness of the health information management (HIM) outsourcing industry while establishing standards of excellence for the entire industry to follow through legislative, regulatory and legal processes.

An industry veteran, Rohs has worked in the ROI industry for over 20 years. For the past 2 years, Matt has held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the Release of Information Division at HealthPort®, a top-25 company in the health information technology industry. There, Rohs is responsible for all field operational activities and financial outcomes for the division.

Prior to joining HealthPort, Rohs started his own ROI business where he worked for 10 years. A registered CPA, Rohs received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Rohs is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Bonnie Coffey
Immediate Past President

President Bonnie CoffeyBonnie J. Coffey has over twenty years experience in the health information management field. As a charter member AHIOS, and now as president of the organization, Ms. Coffey sees the role of president to clearly communicate why expertise in the area of release of medical information is needed and why outsourcing companies fill this need. Since the inception of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), patients have become keenly aware of their health information and want to be assured of its safety and security.

Ms. Coffey started CM Information Specialists (formerly CopyMed Incorporated) in 1986 and currently serves as president and CEO. CM Information Specialists provides outsourcing services in release of medical information and temporary help and consulting to health information management departments. Another company, Attain Document Services, also started by Ms. Coffey, provides assistance in getting records of any type, digitizing and transmitting and storing records for its growing customer base. In all customers numbering over 250 receive record assistance from the two companies.

Ms.Coffey has been instrumental in the creation of the Certified Release of Information Specialist designation, earned by individuals demonstrating their competence in the release and security of protected health information. Ms. Coffey has been active in the Minnesota Health Information Management Association and currently serves on the Legal Resources Committee and Vendor Alliance Committee. Ms. Coffey holds a BS degree in education from Moorhead State University. With this focus in education, Ms. Coffey provides learning opportunities for organizations interested in understanding the complexities of medical information. Ms. Coffey is a member of the American and Minnesota Health Information Management Association

G. Michael Bellenghi
Executive Vice President

As executive vice president of AHIOS, G. Michael Bellenghi is the organization’s primary spokesperson and works directly with the association’s president to administer its business affairs and coordinate operations under the general policy guidelines of the board of directors.

Bellenghi has over 35 years of diversified experience working with a broad range of healthcare organizations. He is presently co-owner and managing director of BF Healthcare, Inc., a privately held physician staffing company in Philadelphia. Bellenghi was a founder and director of SOURCECORP, Inc., a national provider of business process outsourcing solutions for the healthcare industry as well as other information-intensive industries. Before this, he was chairman and CEO of Recordex Services, Inc., one of seven founding companies of SOURCECORP, Inc. He also co-founded and served as managing partner of a management consulting firm that provided a vast array of strategic planning, operating, financial, and business development support to various sectors of the healthcare industry.

Bellenghi began his career in the public accounting profession, where he spent more than 20 years with the firm Deloitte & Touche. A partner in the firm’s audit function, he was partner-in-charge of the Philadelphia office’s healthcare practice for 10 years. A certified public accountant, he holds a BS degree in accounting from LaSalle University. He is a member of both the American and the Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, a former chairman and current member of the board of trustees of The Center for Autism in Philadelphia, and a member of the board of trustees of Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA.
